Food Moves

A mobile first, B2B2C Marketplace designed for Mobile Food Vendors and Farmers Markets
Project Overview
Food Moves initially started as a real-time tracker for Food Trucks but evolved into a B2B2C marketplace, bridging the gap between vendors and their customers.

The Vendor Side of the platform offered tracking features, menu management, order processing, and social media post creation, enabling vendors to efficiently communicate operational information like their location.

On the User Side, customers could find vendors in real time, place orders, and search for specific ingredients available at local farmers markets.
My Contributions
As the founder of Food Moves, I conceptualized and developed the platform from scratch, bringing it to market successfully. I was responsible for all product development, UX wireframes, and sales, collaborating with designers, engineers, and business development employees.

Our team grew to a maximum of six members. Food Moves achieved remarkable milestones, attracting over 10,000 users, 200 brands, and 800 business units, including Mister Softee's entire fleet of ice cream trucks.

Vendor Platform

Vendors used this side of the platform to manage their businesses and accept orders.
Vendor Dashboard

The vendor dashboard served as the central hub for vendor activities. It included modules for real-time tracking management, order acceptance, menu item addition, reporting, and social media post creation.

Vendor Tracking

Food Moves provided vendors with a flexible tracking system capable of accommodating various use cases.

Owners and employees could both manage tracking, depending on their roles. Location tools were integrated to offer transparency and a highly visual representation of the tracking process, providing quick insights into their appearance on Food Moves.

Vendors had the option to choose between automatic tracking, which turned location tracking on/off based on business hours, or manual tracking via a button or address.

User Platform

Users engaged with this side of the platform to discover, find, track, and order from vendors.
User Homepage

The user homepage served as the starting point for users to discover and locate the food they desired.

The hyper-local service ensured that search results were sorted by proximity to the user's location, with closer vendors being more prominently featured.

We used an in-house content management tool to curate the homepage in real-time, relying on SQL queries to display category results. This allowed us to curate by ID, Cuisine, Title Name, and more. Additionally, we organized events like food truck scavenger hunts for free food, which utilized this CMS to edit results in real-time.
