My Contributions
My journey at Hearst began with me leading the Subscription Team, then advancing to oversee the Product Information Management System (PIM).

Following a promotion to Director, I assumed leadership of the platform core teams, which included PIM, Marketing/Offers, Policies, and Order Management Teams.

Each of these teams comprised pods with Engineers, QA, PMs, and Scrum Masters. Additionally, I continued to serve as the Individual Contributor (IC) for the PIM Team. In my role as the lead for the Platform Core Team, I ensured a cohesive user experience (UX) across all Resin Platform teams by overseeing frontend development.

Product Catalog

Flexibility and efficiency were our two main drivers for decision making.
Listing Pages

Navigating and finding products within Resin was designed to be intuitive, with the ability to search across various parameters, including Categories, Tags, Status, and Product Type. Similar products were grouped together, and you could create bundles or packages directly from these grouped listing pages.

Product Information

Product Information adhered to a consistent data structure, with variations occurring only when the type of product necessitated specific data. For instance, physical magazines required a calendar to manage fulfillment throughout the year.

Bundling

Bundling products was a central feature for our clients. We accommodated the need to bundle subscriptions across different brands. To address revenue distribution for both deferred and earned income, we implemented a revenue split mechanism, allowing a specific percentage of revenue to be allocated to each product.

Offer Management

Once we had product information in place, our focus shifted to selling it efficiently, flexibly, and through A/B testing.
Offer Schedules

Our offer schedules were intricate, providing numerous options for our clients. Examples included step-up pricing, where the subscription price changed after a specified duration. We built these schedules to transition seamlessly from one offer to another, creating a chain of offers.

Offer Pages

To empower our clients to A/B test and create diverse pricing and product options, we introduced "Offer Pages." Offers inherited product-level details but could override them, enabling the charging of multiple prices for the same product based on the client's criteria.
